Trying not to get discouraged!

Ok. I went back through the Etsy how to do list of suggestions to sell items. Made the extra pictures, added my (awful) picture for an avatar, though I am going to change that VERY soon, put a banner in and even purchased something from someone else in order to get feedback. I purchased some silk ribbon from an Etsy shop and haven't received it yet, so the feedback portion is still incomplete, although I have purchased items on Etsy in the past, so am not quite sure what I'm to accomplish by this - perhaps you guys can shed some light on this for me. ???

Plenty of 'looks' but still no sales. What am I doing wrong? Perhaps I happen to have one of those items that people just don't want? Hmm...

Should I post the eyeglass chains and perhaps some jewelry on another shop site? Gosh knows, there isn't any jewelry on Etsy! Sorry, sarcasm is one of my character flaws! I make the stuff, but so many of you are MUCH more talented in that area than I. I just don't think I can compete, but don't guess I have much to lose at this point. Just thinking....I haven't really made any jewelry in a good while..just the eyeglass chains. Everything is probably outdated - does that occur?

I had posted a couple (literally) of tassels on Ebay to see what would happen and didn't get the first viewing. (Hey that sounds like a funeral, huh?) So, no more business with them, for tassels - besides, personally I think Ebay is expensive to list! I have considered putting all this embroidery floss on there though....I gotta get rid of this stuff! It's taking up half my bedroom floor!

My daughter has a female doxie puppy who will EAT ANYTHING! I live in the lower section of her split level home, and cannot let the puppy (Sundae) come down to my 'house' as she has eaten buttons off my sweater that was left on my bed, a bra that inadvertently was dropped on the way to the washing machine with the other dirty laundry, a brand new library book, etc, etc, etc. Not to mention the ZIPPERS on JB's sofa pillows in the den. I've known puppies who chew before, but Sundae takes the cake, no pun intended! They named her Sundae because she is a piebald doxie and is white with chocolate "drops" over her body, sorta looking like an chocolate ice cream Sundae. Not to mention that son-in-law's favorite food is ice cream, so Sundae seemed appropriate for 'their new dog'. I've shown you pictures of my buddy Piper, the oldest of the three doxies who own this house, but the middle one, Moxie, I haven't mentioned yet. She is a yapper. And the biggest chicken you've ever met.

When someone comes to the front door and rings the doorbell, they all bark which is good, cause I can't hear the doorbell downstairs, but know by the barks, that someone is here. Piper and Sundae are trying to get through the front door to whomever is on the other side, barking all the while, yet here is Moxie - down in my part of the house - backed up under my desk, barking her head off! This is as far away as she can possibly get from the front door! Seems like she's telling the other two that she has their back - From WAY DOWN here.! She's a hoot!

Got wordy there, sorry, but back to the embroidery floss - I am having to keep my area closed off with a baby gate at the top of the stairs, or Goodness knows what Sundae would do in all that embroidery floss!!! YIKES. Any suggestions on how to sell this stuff???

Heck, any suggestions on how to sell anything!??

I'm really really trying to stay positive here, you folks have helped with the hearts and positive comments... Please don't think I am unappreciative, I'm truly very appreciative - But would like to SELL Something, darn it!

Ok, enough doom and gloom.

I am posting some pictures of some rhinestone pins that I made necklaces from. The horizontal pin was yellow/brown on one end when I got it, and both pins had missing stones. I found a couple of sites online that sold the replacement stones and set about cleaning them up and replacing stones. You know, I found this to be very rewarding and fun. I found a couple of dental picks to clean off the excess glue and found that refurbishing these pins is very relaxing for me. Go figure. But it's also rewarding to see how they can really come to life and shine again! Hey..I like sparklie things, what can I say!

Ok. Gonna call it a night. These hot, humid, Georgia days are sapping all of us, I think. Dread July and August if this keeps up.

Tassel on!

Ann
